Unlimited Power
I present in this article the book " Unlimited Power" by Anthony Robbins . This article is a little longer than usual because it was the basis for another blog.
Unlimited Power book
In this book, Anthony Robbins explains how to change their lives by properly using your brain.
Simple exercises will allow you to change your beliefs, your behaviors and to develop more confidence and ease in your relationships with others.
This book allows you to realize the unlimited nature of your ability and your ability to improve your life.
It's is a real manual for success.
" Unlimited Power" is a book about change and success. You'll learn what steps , characteristics , beliefs and the key to success.
Success is the ability to develop the emotional , social, spiritual, psychological , intellectual and material , while bringing something positive to others.
The model is thus not pure competition but a report win / win .
You will discover throughout the reading that success is a process, a lifestyle and not a result to be achieved .
The proposed tool in this book is neurolinguistic programming (NLP) .
What's this ?
NLP was developed in the 1970s by Dr. Richard Bandler and John Grinder.
This method is based on the assumption that we all have the same neural system . Our actions , our behaviors depend on how we control our nervous system.
The official description of NLP is "the study of the structure of our subjective experience." To put it simply, it is a method that teaches you how to think and communicate more effectively with others and yourself.
NLP attaches great importance to modeling. Because we all have the same neurological system , we can take as a model successful people .
To be successful in one area, so you need to find a person who has succeeded before you and "imitate" their behavior, thinking , posture ( his non-verbal ) , tone of voice ... You will turn you into detective discover how she organizes her thoughts . This learning method is used by children imitate their parents and ask many questions to learn. These reproduce improving .
For Anthony Robbins, the key to success is the ability to follow the example .
The first part of the book is devoted to " imitation ."
The second part invites you to the flexibility to adapt and change perspective. A problem may be a chance.
The seven characteristics that lead to success :
1 . Passion.
It is the passion that gives you the energy to achieve your goals.
2 . Belief.
What are your beliefs, your beliefs that determine what you think you can do. They develop throughout your life and from your experiences and internalization of family rules , educational or social .
Basically, there is no right or wrong beliefs. What is important is to see the effect of your beliefs about your behavior. Your beliefs give orders to your brain. They will condition .
Some beliefs will help you . They stimulate positive energy and allow you to capture the best resources you . Other beliefs imprison you, slow down .
"What you feel able to do something or as you feel able , you're right ." Henry Ford
It is therefore essential to set your mind on what you want rather than what you do not want.
To change a behavior that does not suit you , you have to start by changing the belief that drives you to this behavior .
To change a belief, Anthony Robbins has to experience that belies your "limiting" current belief in doing something that is obviously impossible.
That is why it offers walking on fire during his seminars .
Although some beliefs are unconscious , you can make the choice to adopt beliefs that will lead to success.
Here are seven beliefs that foster success :
" Any event happens for a reason and should serve us. "
"Failure does not exist. Only results exist . " See failure as a source of learning .
"Whatever happens , I take responsibility. " You beget the experiences you ( your thoughts influence your reality).
" It is not necessary to understand all to use it. "
"Human beings are your greatest resource . " There is no lasting success without cohesion between people and an immense respect for others.
"Work is a game " Pick goals that you care about. Put the same curiosity and enthusiasm in the work in the game
"There is no lasting success without commitment. "
Here's a little trick:
Repeat your new beliefs 15 times daily for 21 days (the time it takes for your brain to set a new habit ) . While you rehearse, visualize yourself in the situation where you have already achieved your goal . Feel that this goal gives you .
3 . Strategy .
The passion and conviction are your fuel. Then you need a direction to get what you want. To do this, follow these four steps:
Set yourself goals. When you know your goals, you give your brain a clear picture of what they need to work effectively. It is important to set specific and measurable goals. You can use the technique or SMARTE follow these five rules :
Set your goals in positive terms (" lose weight " or " quit " are not positive goals ) .
Be as specific as possible. To do this, use your 5 senses. What you'll see that you have achieved your goal ?
Empower yourself to take .
Keep the situation. The objective should depend on yourself and not others.
Check the ecology of your goal. Is it beneficial for you and for others?
I use regular exercise objectives proposed in the book . I would like to share it with you. You'll find it at the end of my article in conclusion.
Set up actions. Any result is the product of specific action. If you play the approach of another ( internally as externally ) you will come to the same results .
Rate response to your actions. They give you the desired result ?
Adapt , change behaviors that do not work.
4 . Clarity of values.
It is important that your passion is consistent with your values.
To define your values and those of others, ask the question " What are the most important for me in ... ?
Do not cling to a word. It is essential to know the meaning behind that one puts a value . Love does not mean the same for everyone. We can advocate for common values and have nothing in common.
5. energy
How to achieve your goals without the necessary physical vitality ? To increase your energy :
Learn to breathe and do exercises like trampoline.
70 % of your diet should consist of food rich in water (fruits and vegetables). If you want to stay alive , eat live food .
Pay attention to the combination of your food. Ungroup starches and meat to aid digestion .
Eat less to live longer .
Eat fruit on an empty stomach .
Reduce your consumption of meat and remove the milk. There is a myth around proteins to push us to eat more than necessary.
Delete vitamins capsule.
6 . The art of connecting with others .
Successful people have the ability to interact with others.
To create the relationship , listen , show empathy, put yourself in the place of another . Your non-verbal behavior is more effective to show the empathy that the words you speak . Watch people who get along well and you will notice that their non-verbal is granted. To create the relationship and put the person at ease , reflect its position and tone of voice .
Another way to establish the link to know metaprogrammes another. Metaprograms are keys that provide access to how each processes information. Identify possible to adapt your language to your partner who feels understood.
7 . Control communication.
The quality of our life depends on the quality of your communication with others and with yourself ( your thoughts, the way you react to events, how you represent the world).
Those who succeed have in common the power of precision. They know how to quickly go to the heart of information and communicate what they have learned . The 5 rules of communication :
State your request accurately and detailed. To do this, use the questions : how, who, what, how , where, when , why.
Talk to the person who can help you.
Give one to whom you are speaking the impression that you can bring something .
Show you believe .
Be persistent and adapt the way you request . If that does not work, change of approach.
The five keys to wealth and happiness
1 . Control frustration.
Here's what we recommend Anthony Robbins to pass over the frustration :
Do not make a dish that does not matter .
Remember that nothing is serious.
In other words : relativize !
Here's a little exercise I propose in my training in stress management : put yourself in the shoes of someone else. What would an alien your problem ? (you can make other people like the Dalai Lama , the U.S. president , a famous actor , as a child , your dog, ... )
2 . The ability to wipe the refusal.
How many "no" can you stand ? Walt Disney suffered 302 refusal before finding the necessary funding to create its first amusement park.
3 . Control of financial pressures.
Set aside 10% of what you earn to give to others. This will send a message to your subconscious abundance. And once that belief is established, it becomes reality.
4 . Never let go of complacency .
Avoid comparisons. Learn to judge you based on your goals and not on what others are doing. Avoid gossip and speak only with good intentions .
5. Always give more than you expect to receive .
Start by giving without expecting something in return.
At the end of the book, Anthony Robbins talks about change at a global level.
Today , persuasion is not a choice but a reality. The media manipulate us . There is always someone who persuades . It is therefore important to know the communication tools that help you understand these mechanisms and avoid manipulate you.
Conclusion
Why I chose to tell you about this book ?
I met with NLP in my coaching training . At that time , I did not realize the full potential of this tool. While reading the book by Anthony Robbins that I really understood the value of using it in my life and those of the people I coach.
I read this book when I started in entrepreneurship in late 2009. This is a book that I find really stimulating and motivating. I especially liked the convenience and exercises. I redo the exercise objectives (found below) at least twice a year and each time it gives me a very positive energy and it motivates me to move forward. I also offer several exercises in the book to my clients coaching and training especially in the area of self-confidence.
Here is the exercise :
List your dreams. What do you want to be , do, and have to share? Write down everything that comes to mind. Write at least 20 dreams.
Review your list and make an estimate of how long it will take to reach your goals.
Choose for the coming year your four most important objectives . Write down the reasons why it is important for you to reach them .
Check whether the objectives are formulated (see 5 rules).
Make a list of key resources you have.
Think about your successes. How did you do to achieve this ? Rate it!
Describe the kind of person you should be to achieve your goals ?
Note that prevents you now have what you want .
Establish your plan of action for each step. Plan something to do today!
Note the names of at least 3 people who have accomplished what you want to accomplish and set in a few words the qualities and behaviors that helped them succeed. What advice would they give you to achieve your goals ? Close your eyes and visualize your success. Create the clearest image and the brightest possible this success.
Imagine your perfect day . Who would be on your side ? What would you do ? Where would you be ? How would you feel ?
Create an atmosphere that nurtures creativity. Define your ideal environment.
Keep a journal to keep close to your goals . List all brings about a sense of gratitude ( that you have already succeeded , what makes you happy, the resources that you have developed in you) .
This book was also very helpful in my work with young people. Practicing NLP can adapt his language to the person that was in front of you ( the person she needs to see , hear or feel to understand) . It also allows you to find what motivates . I can now easily restore the motivation for early school difficulties. This is reflected in their confidence in themselves and their school.
This book invites us to act and share information with others. This is what I wanted to do in writing this article . If you put into practice the proposed exercise , I'd love to hear your opinion .
Strengths Book
Concrete and simple to apply advice.
Many years. The book is oriented "action."
Diagrams and tabular summaries that make life easier visual .
Motivational quotes .
Weaknesses Book
Too long (over 500 pages) .
Little structure and a lot of repetition ( it took me several Mind Maps to restore order before writing the article.)
The promise of immediate change ( in my experience, the difficulties return if a long-term work is not performed ) .
Have you read? What do you think ? What other books that inspire you?
